Summer getaway in Kumamoto

Store name: Saga Airport

Greetings, this is Kitamura from the Saga Airport store.
Today I went to Aso, Kikuchi in Kumamoto which I hadn’t visited in a while. From Saga, it is about 2 hours using the local roads.
First up was the Kikuchi valley in Kikuchi city, Kumamoto prefecture.

I was short-sleeved when I went there the other day and felt a bit chilly. But walking around got my blood pumping and I was able to comfortably take photos. On this day I wasn’t able to go to the deepest end due to a fallen tree, but I still had a great time.

There were several places where I could walk down to the river and cool down. But please note, the area is wet with moss growth so it’s very slippery.

Along the way there were several waterfalls and perfect for a stroll.

Next, I went to the Nabegataki Falls that is about 45 minutes away by car from the Kikuchi valley.
I think it’s the waterfall I’ve been to the most. I think some of you has seen it before because it’s appeared on my blog a number of times =)
It was raining on this occasion so the photos came out with a beautiful hint of green.

This picture is my personal favorite, so please click on the picture to take a closer look.

*If you spot a person knee-deep in a river or sea with their jeans and sneakers to take photos, please no dirty looks. It’s probably me so no worries.
