Greetings! This is Oya from the Hakata Station store :‑|
Today I went and tried the “Mentai-Ju (Rice topped with spicy cod roe, served in a box)” that is famous in Fukuoka

It’s the old joke that if you’re a local, you accidently end up never trying the local specialties:‑|
First, you choose one tag from among 3 to 4 types of small wooden tags :‑|
These tags are to show how spicy you want the sauce and you can choose from; normal, slightly spicy, medium spicy, and extra spicy :‑|
I chose medium spicy for my rice and soup set (a Mentai-ju and spicy cod roe soup) :‑|
The sauce for the Mentai-ju was thick and had a slight kick to it, but it made me want to keep eating LOL
In addition, the soup paired perfectly, which was full of tofu and with a subtle and mild flavoring!!!
I even recommend the locals to come and try this out LOL
Next up? I’m thinking ramen noodles ♡
